Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks during night shifts, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal requirements.
- Plan and follow optimal delivery routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of goods.
- Load ensuring secure transportation.
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including manifests, delivery notes, and logbooks.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients and warehouse personnel.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for HGV vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience with a track record of punctuality and reliability.
- Excellent navigation skills and ability to plan efficient routes during night shifts.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot common issues.
- Good communication skills for liaising with dispatchers, clients, and team members.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary.
