Skilled Labourer / Multi-Skilled Operative Gates | Fabrication | Solar | Electrical | Groundworks
Ringwood, Hampshire (BH24) £27,000 to £33,000 per year DOE (roughly £13 to £16 per hour) Full-time, Permanent, PAYE
Green Light Electrical is a second-generation, family-run business based in Ringwood, in the heart of the New Forest. We design, fabricate and install bespoke electric gates, automated access systems, security and electrical work for high-end residential clients across the South Coast.
We're in a strong growth phase and building out our on-site team. We're looking for a genuinely useful pair of hands. Someone practical, switched on and multi-skilled who wants to grow with us, not clock in and drift.
This is not a "stand and hold the dumb end of the tape" job. What we do has expanded massively over the years, and so has this role. You'll work alongside our electricians, fabricators and gate engineers, so no two weeks look the same.
What you'll actually be doing
- Trenching, digging and preparing ground for gate and electrical installs
- Working as an electrician's mate, pulling in and running cables
- Helping to lift and place solar panels onto roofs
- General drilling, fixing and fitting on site
- Setting out, measuring and levelling posts to a proper standard
- Cutting metal, and helping to fabricate and assemble gate frames
- Fitting timber and composite boards to gate frames
- Lifting and hanging gates alongside our engineers
- Painting and staining gates and timber
- The odd bit of brickwork, patching in and patch repairs (we bring in bricklayers for walls and piers)
- General fixing, tidying and sweeping to keep the job moving
- Loading, unloading and moving materials safely
- Keeping sites, the workshop and vans tidy, organised and safe
What we're looking for
- Competent and confident with hand and power tools
- Accurate with measuring, levelling and setting out. Attention to detail matters here
- Physically fit and happy with hands-on, outdoor work
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in a job done properly
- A team player, not ego-driven
- Understands that pace and efficiency matter, without ever cutting corners
- Willing to learn. We'll train you across gates, fabrication, solar, electrical and more
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Nice to have (not essential)
- Fabrication, groundworks, fencing, carpentry or construction experience
- Experience as an electrician's mate, or on solar, groundworks or brickwork
- MIG welding
- CSCS card
