What the role involves:
Supporting our residents with everything daily life requires when dementia makes it hard to do alone:
- Personal care: washing, dressing, continence support, helping people stay comfortable and dignified
- Helping people eat and drink well, including those who need encouragement or assistance
- Supporting mobility and helping people move safely
- Spending real time with people: talking, reassuring, sitting with someone who's anxious, knowing what settles them
- Recognising when someone isn't right and flagging it to senior staff
- Keeping clear, accurate records of the care you give
You'll do this across both day and night shifts. Nights are quieter but no less important — they're often when people are most disorientated and need the most reassurance.

- Are genuinely warm and patient: you don't rush people, and you don't take it personally when someone living with dementia is upset or repetitive
- Stay calm under pressure and can think on your feet
- Treat people with dignity even in undignified moments: that's most of the job
- Are reliable. Our residents and your colleagues depend on you turning up
- Want to learn and take pride in doing things properly
If you've cared for a relative, worked in hospitality or retail, or come from any background where you've looked after people.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Barnstaple, Devon: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
