Home Listening Bar is a Peterborough city centre bar built for those who care about sound.
We’re a stripped-back, independent listening bar centred around a custom hi-fi system, vinyl and great drinks. Our record selection is constantly changing, with music played by selectors we trust, alongside a carefully chosen range of craft beers and quality cocktails.
More than anything, we want Home to be exactly what the name suggests: a comfortable, welcoming place for old friends, new faces and everyone in between.
We’re looking for a Weekend Bar Team Member to join us and help create that atmosphere.
The Role
This is a part-time position primarily covering Friday and Saturday evenings, with an average of up to 12 hours per week.
You’ll be working as part of a small team in a busy, customer-focused environment. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Serving craft beer, cocktails, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable and attentive service
- Collecting glasses and keeping tables and customer areas clean and tidy
- Keeping the bar clean, organised and well stocked throughout service
- Learning about our beers, cocktails and other products
- Helping us maintain the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes Home what it is
Who We’re Looking For
We’re less interested in someone who can simply pull a pint and more interested in finding someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and looking after people.
Ideally, you’ll be:
- Friendly, confident and comfortable talking to customers
- Reliable and able to work regularly on weekend evenings
- Calm and organised when the bar gets busy
- Happy working as part of a small team
- Interested in learning about craft beer and cocktails
- Someone who takes pride in keeping a bar clean and well presented
- Enthusiastic about the kind of atmosphere we’re trying to create at Home
Previous bar or hospitality experience would be useful, but it isn't essential. We’re happy to train the right person if you have the right attitude and are keen to learn.
An interest in music, vinyl, craft beer or cocktails is definitely a bonus.
What We Offer
- Up to 12 hours per week on average
- Primarily Friday and Saturday evening shifts, generally 6pm-12am

About Our Approach
Home isn't intended to be a loud late-night venue or a traditional city-centre bar.
Good music, good drinks and good hospitality are at the centre of what we do. We care about the details – from what comes through the speakers to what goes into the glass – without making the experience pretentious or inaccessible.
