Origin Analytical are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Welshpool.
This is more than a traditional laboratory role. We're looking for someone who is practical, dependable and enjoys getting things done. We're open to applications from candidates with a range of experience levels. Whether you're looking to build a career in laboratory sciences or already have relevant experience, we're interested in people with the right attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. This role would suit a graduate in a scientific discipline looking to start their career, an experienced laboratory technician seeking greater responsibility, or someone with a strong technical background who enjoys practical, hands-on scientific work.
For the right person, the role can also offer opportunities to support field projects, site-based analytical work and potentially wellsite operations as your skills and experience develop.

- Washing, drying, picking, grinding and milling rock and core samples.
- Supporting mineralogical and geochemical analysis programmes.
- Operating laboratory and portable analytical equipment following training.
- Assisting with Raman and other analytical workflows.
- Ensuring samples are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Working both in the laboratory and at external locations, including core stores and client sites, to support sampling and analytical programmes.
- Supporting field-based and wellsite operations as opportunities arise and experience develops.
- Maintaining high standards of quality control, housekeeping and HSE compliance.
- Working closely with geologists, project managers and laboratory colleagues.
- Assisting with the development and improvement of laboratory processes.

- Keen to learn new skills and develop professionally.
- Adaptable and happy working across different tasks and environments.
- Strong team players with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable working independently when required.
- Willing to travel occasionally for project delivery, site-based work and training opportunities.
