Job Description
We are seeking reliable and skilled HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to navigate various routes effectively.
We are a family-owned business carrying out nationwide general haulage work on curtain side trailers. It is essential to have experience with ratchet strapping and corners as it is required for some of our contracts.
Shifts last around 13 hours daily and involve 2–3 nights out in the vehicle.
Drivers will earn £220 per day worked, along with a £30 night out allowance tax-free.
Wages are paid weekly. Fuel cards, assigned modern 2026 plate trucks, and secure parking are provided. Occasional light unloading may occur.
The position is for full-time PAYE drivers on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
Duties
* Operate curtain side lorries for the transportation of goods to various locations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
* Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry.
Skills
* Proven experience in commercial driving (minimum 3 years) with a valid HGV licence.
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to drive long distances and manage time efficiently for deliveries.
* Experience as a delivery driver is advantageous, particularly with flatbed lorries.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.

Duties

- Maintain a professional attitude and represent the company positively during all interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driving or delivery driver, preferably with flatbed cargo handling
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety procedures for HGV vehicles
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physical aspects of loading/unloading cargo efficiently
- Good organizational skills to manage routes, schedules, and documentation
- Flexibility to adapt to changing delivery requirements and schedules
- Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and clients
