Business Development Manager
Salary: £27,000 to £45,000 per annum
Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week

About the Role
H2OiQ is recruiting a Business Development Manager to drive sales, develop client relationships and expand our market presence across both public and private sectors.
This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, promoting our products and services, and developing key accounts to support long-term growth. You will create tailored proposals, negotiate contracts and work closely with internal teams to ensure client requirements are met accurately and effectively.
The role is based at H2OiQ in Derby. Much of the client engagement can be managed online, although some travel across the UK will be required for client meetings, site visits and industry events where appropriate. You may also need some flexibility in your working hours to meet client and business needs.

Main Responsibilities
- Identify and contact potential clients to generate new business opportunities
- Develop strong client relationships through online meetings, phone calls and site visits where required
- Create and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, case studies and reports
- Maintain accurate sales, opportunity and client information using online systems
- Work with operational, inventory, data and finance teams to develop effective and cost-efficient solutions
- Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to the company’s growth and market development
What We Are Looking For
You will be a confident, proactive and results-driven business development professional who can work independently, build trust with clients and balance immediate opportunities with longer-term strategic planning.
You must have:
- A proven track record in business development, sales and negotiation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Strong organisation, time management and digital reporting skills
- Proficiency in CRM and data management tools
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK when required
Salary
£27,000 to £45,000 per annum
This role sits within a company-wide salary structure so the parameters are non-negotiable. Please do not apply if the advertised salary does not meet your requirements. Starting salary will be aligned to your skills, experience and capability, and may be positioned within the range rather than at the minimum.
Future progression and increases are linked to performance, development and progression within the business.
