Role Purpose
The Land‑Based Activities Instructor delivers engaging, safe and confidence‑building adventure activities, supporting participants to challenge themselves through climbing, archery, axe throwing, team games and multi‑sport sessions.
The role focuses on excellent group management, clear instruction and creating a fun, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver land‑based activities including climbing, archery, axe throwing and team challenges
- Deliver clear demonstrations, instructions and safety briefings
- Maintain positive group control and behaviour management
- Carry out dynamic risk assessments
- Set up, check and safely pack away equipment
- Work collaboratively with other instructors and activity leads
- Support teachers, leaders and parents during sessions
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people or groups
- Strong communication and group leadership skills
- Safety‑focused mindset
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) or ERCA
- Archery GB Instructor Award
- Previous outdoor centre experience
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Temporary, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.50-£14.50 per hour
