Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Develop detailed structural designs using specialised software, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety regulations.
- Analyse existing structures to assess their integrity and recommend necessary improvements or reinforcements.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate project requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, calculations, and technical documentation for approval by relevant authorities.
- Conduct site inspections during construction phases to monitor compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians involved in project execution.
- Ensure all projects adhere to local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Structural Engineer with a minimum of one year in the construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, or similar programmes, and able to do structural design and calculations on residential extensions, loft conversions and wall removals .
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, standards (e.g., Eurocode), and health & safety legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting technical challenges.
- Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent professional body.
- Membership or chartered status with a recognised professional organisation is desirable but not essential.
