We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our children's home.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and is ready to take on a leadership role within a supportive and child-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective operation of the home
- Lead shifts and provide guidance, supervision, and support to staff
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young people
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and children's home regulations are followed at all times
- Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and daily records to ensure high standards of care
- Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
- Take responsibility and use initiative to resolve issues and make decisions when required
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working within a children's residential home
- Holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Has experience leading shifts or supervising staff
- Demonstrates strong safeguarding knowledge and professional judgement
- Can remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
- Is organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Has excellent communication and leadership skills
