We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join our Digital Programme and Communities Team as Project Support Officers.
The role will provide dedicated support to ensure the effective delivery of Durham County Councils emerging digital programme of work. You will contribute to ensuring projects are well-governed, well-documented and aligned with organisational priorities.
You will support the development, coordination, monitoring and reporting of initiatives, ensuring high standards of project support. The role will also support the design and maintenance of systems, documentation and processes required to underpin the developing work programme.
The post will provide dedicated support to the Digital Programme Management Office, and digital projects evolving as a result of service developments and the Councils Transformation programme. This is a great opportunity to support the governance processes that underpin this work programme, providing project co-ordination, and helping maintain clear reporting, engagement and communication across a range of stakeholders. This post is fixed-term for 18 months.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will support a wide range of activities that help ensure successful delivery of the Councils digital programme of work. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery and tracking of projects under the work programme.
- Assisting with pilots, proofs-of-concept and discovery work.
- Preparing and coordinating documentation, governance materials and project reporting.
- Collating performance metrics, user feedback and evaluation data.
- Producing structured reporting, dashboards and transparent audit trails for projects.
- Monitoring progress and contributing to reports for relevant governance groups and stakeholders.
- Researching best practice in areas such as governance, ethics, risk management and emerging technologies.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
- You will be educated to level 4 or equivalent and experience supporting complex projects, using a range of IT systems, and managing administrative and financial processes.
- You will have strong communication, organisational and research skills, along with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and perform well under pressure.
- You must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
