Architectural Metalwork Installations Limited specialises in supplying and installing balconies, balustrading, staircases, canopies and secondary steelwork to blue chip contractors nationwide. The Company has a well-established portfolio of main contract partners that is continually growing, along with a trusted supply chain. Due to this continuing expansion we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced draughtsman to join our existing design team in our Sheffield office, preferably with experience of the architectural metalwork industry or steelwork in general.
The right candidate will have experience of AutoCAD 2013 onwards including 3d modelling and have at least 5 years' experience working in a similar role. You will be a down to earth team player and have the ability to work under pressure and maintain output to match a design programme. You will have a keen attention to detail and have the interpersonal skills to converse with people at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed designs and fabrication drawings from architects impressions and designs.
- Liaising with consulting engineers and arranging structural calculations in relation to the designs for approval.
- Liaising with the main design team to ensure our proposals slot into the overall design and are issued within the required timescales.
- Aiding the manufacturing and site installation team to fully understand the fabrication drawings and answer queries as they arise.
- Feedback alterations to the designs that may have a cost or programme implication to the Directors to ensure any variations are noted and dealt with accordingly.
- Aid more junior members of the team to develop their knowledge and skill set to obtain best performance from every team member.
- Managing drawing issue to all parties including uploading manufacturing drawings to multi user platforms (such as conject).
