Experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
TNT is looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our busy workshop.
We are looking for a reliable, experienced and skilled mechanic who is confident working independently and can diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles.
This is a hands-on role within a busy independent environment, working on a variety of vehicles including German, premium and mainstream makes. The right person will take pride in their work, have good attention to detail and be able to identify and resolve mechanical faults efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using professional diagnostic equipment
- Carry out engine repairs and mechanical work
- Carry out manual gearbox and clutch repairs/replacements
- Diagnose and repair braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain issues
- Carry out timing belt and timing chain work
- Carry out pre-delivery inspections and ensure vehicles are prepared to a high standard
- Identify faults accurately and recommend the appropriate repairs
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
- Complete repair and inspection records where required
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic who is confident working on vehicles without constant supervision.
You should have:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience
- Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles
- Experience with engines, gearboxes and clutches
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- A reliable and professional attitude
- Full UK driving licence
MOT Tester qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
