We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join one of our Clients in the Derby Area. These are NEW homes so a great opportunity!
The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in young lives while working within a supportive and professional environment. The role involves leading by example, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of residents, and working closely with colleagues to deliver personalised care plans.
Duties
- Provide day-to-day support and supervision to children and young people in the residential setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Assist with organising activities that encourage personal growth and community engagement.
- Support residents with daily routines such as personal care, education, and leisure activities.
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress, incidents, and any concerns in line with organisational policies.
- Drive residents safely to appointments or activities as required, ensuring compliance with road safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, families, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for residents.
- Lead by example in adhering to organisational policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.
Requirements
- At least two years experience working with children or young people in a residential or childcare environment.
- Residential Childcare Qualification L3 minimum
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive residents safely when required.
- Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate approach combined with patience and resilience in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required by the organisation’s rota system. This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people through dedicated support and care.
Pay: £30,160.00 per year
