RSPCA South London Branch is looking for an energetic and motivated manager for our fast-paced charity shop in Crystal Palace.
This is a great opportunity to manage the biggest charity shop in our branch area. We already have a great customer base of loyal supporters, and we're looking to grow this and increase our reach throughout the local community and you will very much be at the heart of this!
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the shop, including staffing, inventory management, and merchandising
- Recruiting, training, and supervising a team of volunteers and/or paid staff
- Developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and donations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing regular reports
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and other legal requirements
- Representing the charity in the local community and fostering strong relationships with donors, customers, and other stakeholders
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in retail management, preferably in a charity shop or other non-profit setting
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound understanding of financial management and budgeting
- Ability to develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategies
- Knowledge and experience of Gift Aid.
- A passion for the mission and values of the charity
