Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Vehicle Recovery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting and recovering vehicles, ensuring timely service delivery across various locations. This role requires a professional approach, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle vehicle recovery operations efficiently. Responsibilities
- Safely operate recovery vehicles, including flatbed lorries and other specialised equipment, to recover and transport vehicles.
- Respond promptly to recovery calls and coordinate with dispatch to ensure efficient service.
- Conduct routine inspections of recovery vehicles and equipment to maintain safety standards.
- Assist with vehicle loading and unloading, ensuring secure placement during transit.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and dispatch regarding recovery status and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries performed, including mileage, time logs, and vehicle details.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations during operations.
- Perform basic mechanical checks on recovery vehicles and report any faults or maintenance needs.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, with a valid <PERSON> driver’s licence.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience operating flatbed trucks or similar vehicles is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs or report faults.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for handling vehicle loading procedures efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
- Familiarity with vehicle recovery techniques and equipment operation, including flatbed utilisation.
- Ability to remain organised under pressure while managing multiple recovery tasks effectively. Pay: £12.21-£14.50 per hour
