We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor QTS to join our team in Stoke. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality tuition to students across various age groups and educational needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support children’s learning development, especially those requiring specialised educational approaches. The Tutor QTS will work closely with pupils, parents, and school staff to foster a positive and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Use trauma-informed approaches to support children and young people who may have experienced adverse childhood experiences or barriers to learning
- Develop engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student learning goals
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students in building confidence, emotional regulation, and motivation towards their academic achievements
- Maintain clear communication with parents, carers, and professionals regarding student progress and areas for development
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes active participation and wellbeing
- Keep accurate records of sessions conducted, progress made, and relevant observations
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching across a range of age groups and subjects
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable
- Understanding and experience of trauma-informed practice and relational approaches to learning
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and professionals
- Knowledge of current educational practices and curriculum requirements
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and individual needs
- Previous experience working within schools, alternative provision, or educational settings is advantageous but not essential
