Trust & Estates Accountant / Private Client Tax Adviser

Are you experienced in trusts, estates or private client tax and ready for a role offering greater variety, responsibility and long-term progression?
A highly respected and long-established accountancy firm is looking for a Trust & Estates Accountant to join its growing specialist team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of trusts, estates, charities and private clients while developing your technical expertise within a supportive environment.
Applications are welcomed from candidates currently working within either an accountancy practice or a solicitors’ firm.
The Role
Working closely with the Trust Manager, you will:
- Prepare trust and estate accounts, tax computations and relevant tax returns.
- Assist with the administration of trusts and deceased estates.
- Advise on Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax matters.
- Liaise directly with trustees, beneficiaries, executors and private clients.
- Work with HMRC, solicitors, banks and other professional advisers.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure deadlines are met.
- Support the continued development and smooth running of the Trust & Estates team.
The role can be shaped around your existing experience, with support available to develop your knowledge across more complex trust, estate and private client work.
About You
You may already be working as a Trust Accountant, Trust Administrator, Estates Administrator, Private Client Tax Adviser or in a similar role.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience of trusts, estates or private client tax within an accountancy practice or solicitors’ firm.
- Knowledge of trust and estate accounts and taxation.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- The confidence to communicate with clients and external professional advisers.
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
ATT, STEP or a related qualification would be beneficial but is not essential. Experience using CCH or specialist trust accounting software would also be advantageous.
