Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Structural Steel Fixer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, positioning, and securing structural steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and site specifications. This role is essential to ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and secure structural steel beams, columns, frames, and other steel components.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Align, level, and position steel structures using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Assist with the erection of steel frameworks on construction sites.
- Carry out bolting, welding preparation, and fixing activities as required.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure accuracy and structural integrity.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and site procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, crane operators, and other trades.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Fixer or in a similar steel erection role.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
- Good understanding of structural steel installation techniques.
- Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- CSCS card (or equivalent certification) preferred.
- Relevant lifting, rigging, or steel erection qualifications are advantageous.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer
Pay: £17.78-£27.10 per hour
