About the role
Goodridge Electrical Contractors Ltd (GEC) is a well-established commercial electrical contractor working across healthcare, commercial, and facilities management projects. We are recruiting electrical labourers / electrician's mates for a commercial project in Buxton, starting at the beginning of September 2026 and offering approximately 8 months of continuous work.
The first phase of the project involves stripping out existing cabling and containment, moving into installation works as the project progresses.
What you'll be doing
- Stripping out redundant cabling, containment, and accessories
- Assisting qualified electricians as works progress
- Loading out and moving materials
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe
- General site duties as directed by the site supervisor
What we're looking for
- A valid CSCS card (essential)
- Full UK driving licence and own transport (essential, the site location means public transport is not practical)
- Previous experience on commercial or industrial construction sites
- A good attitude, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a team
Desirable but not essential
- Asbestos awareness and manual handling training
- Experience with strip-out or demolition-phase works
- IPAF or PASMA ticket
Pay and hours
- £19.50 to £20.00 per hour, paid via CIS
- 10 to 12 hours per day, 5 days per week
- Start: September 2026
- Duration: approximately 8 months of continuous work
