Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans tailored to diverse SEMH student needs.
- Incorporate creative writing, reading comprehension, and language arts activities to enhance student engagement.
- Use effective communication skills to facilitate clear instruction and foster a supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Manage classroom behavior with positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Provide tutoring sessions and individualized support to help students improve their English proficiency.
- Conduct proofreading exercises to develop students’ editing skills and attention to detail.
- Integrate physical education activities when appropriate to promote overall student well-being and motor skills development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and inclusive education practices for children with special education needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in SEMH educational settings.
- Proven teaching experience in English or related subjects, demonstrating the ability to adapt lessons for different age groups.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young learners.
- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support for students struggling with language skills or literacy.
- Knowledge of childcare principles and best practices for fostering a nurturing learning environment.
- Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement into lessons is a plus.
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail in language instruction are highly desirable.
