Deacon & Sandys
Established in 1978, Deacon & Sandys are period interior specialists, designing and restoring traditional English interior woodwork and authentically styled 16th and 17th century furniture from the finest oak.
With almost 50 years of experience providing our highly specialist services, we have built a reputation with customers across the UK and Europe for the quality of our craftsmanship. As period interior experts we have worked on everything from private commissions to heritage restorations for the National Trust. We are proud of the fact that over 40% of our work is from returning customers.
Each piece of work we produce is the culmination of careful research and refined techniques of distressing and ageing the timber and hand finishing to ensure perfect colouring to be as faithful to the look, style and construction of the Early English period as possible.
Some of our customers bring us architect's drawings and designs, others bring us a thumbnail sketch or photos of antiques they have seen. We adapt to each individual requirement, providing whatever support is needed to turn an idea into reality.
Bespoke is everything to us. We are not a mass manufacture factory but a true joinery workshop, creating unique pieces for every individual client.
Architectural joinery is our primary speciality, crafting period interior features such as staircases, balustrades, overmantels, wood panelling, timber floors, doors and windows. We take pride in creating more than just a beautiful object - we aim to blend it with the existing surroundings.
