Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Senior Support Worker to join our care team. This vital role involves supervising and supporting care home residents during night shifts, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to elder care. Previous supervising experience within senior or care home settings is essential, along with the ability to manage care plans effectively. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team while providing high-quality support to our residents during overnight hours.
Duties
- Oversee the night-time routine of residents, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the shift
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and leadership during night hours
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies
- Assist with the implementation and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with senior management
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care activities and incidents during the shift
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Safely administer medication
- Support residents with personal care tasks as required, respecting their dignity and preferences
- Facilitate effective communication between staff members and external healthcare professionals when necessary
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a care home or senior care environment
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear reporting and resident interaction
- Competent in using IT systems for record keeping and updating care plans
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation needs or emergency situations
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety protocols
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in elder support and wellbeing
Pay: £26,676.00 per year
