Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist with basic food preparation, dishwashing, and ensuring that all kitchen areas adhere to health and safety standards. Duties
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients
- Supporting the kitchen team with general cleaning duties such as sweeping floors, wiping surfaces, and waste disposal
- Restocking supplies and ensuring all kitchen equipment is maintained in good condition
- Assisting with the organisation of storage areas and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting serving staff during busy periods by clearing tables and delivering food or beverages as required
- Maintaining a tidy workspace throughout the shift to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with restaurant or hotel environments is desirable
- Basic knowledge of kitchen safety procedures and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality service
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and teamwork
- Flexibility to work shifts as required within a hospitality setting
