Role Summary
The Front of House Team Leader plays a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy bar, leading by example on the floor and ensuring excellent customer service at all times. This role bridges the gap between management and the front-line team, supporting operations, motivating staff, and maintaining high standards during service.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Operations
- Lead shifts on the floor, ensuring smooth and efficient service during busy periods
- Deliver consistently high standards of customer service and handle guest queries or complaints professionally
- Ensure the venue is clean, well-presented, and fully set up before service
- Monitor service flow and adjust staffing or sections as required
Team Leadership
- Support, motivate, and supervise Front of House team members
- Lead by example in attitude, appearance, and work ethic
- Assist with training and onboarding of new staff
- Provide clear direction during shifts and ensure tasks are completed
Cash, Stock & Compliance
- Operate tills accurately and follow cash handling procedures
- Assist with stock control, deliveries, and stock rotation
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, Challenge 25, and company policies
- Maintain health & safety and COSHH standards on shift
Communication & Support
- Act as a point of contact between staff and management during shifts
- Escalate issues to management when necessary
- Contribute ideas to improve service, efficiency, and team performance
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a busy bar or hospitality environment
- Experience in a supervisory or team leader role preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
- Confident knowledge of bar service, drinks, and customer interaction
