This role is all about creating a positive shopping experience, supporting and motivating volunteers, and helping the store thrive. Working alongside the Shop Manager, you’ll help drive sales, maximise donations, maintain high visual standards, and ensure the shop runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be someone who leads by example, communicates with confidence and warmth, and thrives in a busy environment where no two days are the same. Job Purpose
The Deputy Shop Manager will support the Shop manager in providing expertise in retail management and guidance on the day-to-day running of a retail store in order to achieve budgeted targets for RSPCA Woodside.
Whilst ensuring that our animals are the focus of our service, the post holder will uphold the charity’s high standards and support their team to maintain and work within current regulations and guidelines set out for the charity.
Role Responsibilities
- Achieving profit targets by maximising sales and minimising costs.
- Actively promoting and achieving the required gift aid conversion rates and ensuring the gift aid processes in line with HMRC requirements.
- Effectively managing stock, through actively donate driving donations.
- Ensuring high standards of visual merchandising, general presentation and housekeeping
Management Responsibilities
· Prioritising and delegating work tasks to a team of volunteers to ensure effective and efficient running of your designated business area.
· Working inline to achieve budgets/targets as set out.
· Working collaboratively on cross-organisational activities, events, and campaigns
· Completing organisational reports/paperwork to meet deadlines.

Person Specification
· Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, support and inspire teams through a positive and inclusive approach.
· Experience of working within the retail sector.
· Controlled: in an environment where no day is the same, you will be calm and able to respond in a crisis
· Pragmatic approach to animal welfare
· Excellent communication
· Good IT skills or committed to developing.
