We have a vacancy for a Transport Driver to support vulnerable young people and adults to and from their home to either their education setting or our Day Service. If you are comfortable driving different vehicles, from a 3 door car to a minibus and are happy to do a few hours a day then this role might be for you!
Hours: up to 4 hours each day, up to 2 hours in the morning and then up to 2 hours in the afternoon, 5 days per week, term time only.
Location: Urmston (on-site)
Pay: £12.71 per hour

Who are Away Day Care?
You would be joining a family run business, originally founded by the family who set up our first Day Service Centre from their own family home. This came after realising there was a strong need for support in their local area. We are an award-winning, high-quality provider of person-centred social care services for young adults.
We assist people with a range of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health, dementia, Autistic spectrum, and sensory needs. Our sites are in the heart of the community, with a range of different settings including a comprehensive Day Service, Respite facility with state-of-the-art Hydrotherapy Spa and Sensory Suite, Supported Living settings, promoting development and life skills and an Employability hub.
As the business has grown we now require the support of a Transport Driver to work alongside colleagues to ensure Service Users arrive at their destination safely and on time.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working independently and as part of a team to ensure the timely transport of our services users to their destination in the morning and afternoon each day.
- You will be an excellent and experienced driver, ustilising a number of our vehicles to support the transport of our vulnerable service users.
- You will attend face to face and online training on a regular basis to ensure that you understand the needs of our users and are able to working safely.
Our ideal candidate:
- Must hold a Full UK manual driving licence and having experience of driving would be advantageous.
- Ability to plan your routes and consider the most efficient route considering your pick ups and destinations for that day
- Excellent time keeping to enable a timely service
- Full UK driving licence
