Waking Night Residential Support Worker – Derby LD 3‑Bed Children’s Home (Aged 8–17) 4 on, 4 off shift pattern £13.00 per hour No Level 3 required
GSR‑Recruits have a fantastic opportunity for a Waking Night Support Worker to join a 3‑bed LD children’s home in Derby, supporting young people aged 8–17 with learning disabilities, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge.
Your role is to provide safety, stability, and calm throughout the night, ensuring the home remains secure, consistent, and responsive to the needs of the children.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment during night hours
- Provide emotional reassurance and practical support when required
- Complete night‑time routines, welfare checks, and safeguarding duties
- Record accurate logs, incident reports, and handovers for the day team
- Work closely with the Registered Manager and day staff to ensure continuity of care
- Uphold the home’s values, therapeutic approach, and regulatory standards
This is a permanent waking night position.
Experience / Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in Residential Childcare (Preferred)
- Driver with access to own vehicle (Preferred)
- No Level 3 qualification required
- Strong safeguarding awareness
- Ability to remain calm, consistent, and professional during night‑time incidents
- Emotional resilience and a child‑centred approach
