Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Roll-on Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with roll-on/roll-off capabilities, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring cargo integrity.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and vehicle usage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any vehicle issues promptly to maintenance teams.
- Deliver goods to designated locations, providing excellent customer service and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, mileage records, and incident reports.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) license with recent driving experience in commercial transportation.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with roll-on/roll-off freight or flatbed loads.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Good communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members.
- Overtime available, including early mornings.
