Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Commercial Team to manage a full estimating role from inception to Tender completion in both contracting and private development requiring a long-term collaborative approach to relationships with Clients, Consultants, all internal departments and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and understand the technical specifications and commercial terms and conditions provided by Clients.
- Liaise with Client / Commercial team to understand, influence and finalise technical requirements.
- Maintain a detailed sub-contractor and supplier data base and develop relationships with supply chain partners.
- In conjunction with project team select/agree subcontractor & materials supplier enquiry list.
- Co-ordination of Tender preparation from acceptance of completed Bills of Quantities to Tender Settlement.
- Adopt best practice principles in all Tenders and technical proposals.
- Ensure that the Company's quality standards are embedded in all Tenders and proposals.
- Establish and maintain long-term working relationship with Clients.
Requirements
- to generate proposals and Tenders to a high standard.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, and to see projects through to completion.
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject would be advantageous.
- Post qualification construction experience with an established main contractor with particular emphasis on Design and Build experience.
- Experience of package negotiation and demonstrating the ability to effectively influence and optimise successful results.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office packages and EValuate or a similar estimating software.
