G&A Tree Services Ltd are a family owned business based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
We are looking to recruit suitably qualified, enthusiastic and reliable self-employed Utility Arborists to predominantly carry out vegetation maintenance around the electricity infrastructure and occasionally assist on other commercial contracts. Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work on own initiative, and as part of a team, whilst maintaining safety and working to a high standard.
The successful candidates will be required to work on our contracts in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regions and further afield as required. A flexible attitude to work and the ability to work long hours is essential.
Ideally the successful candidates will have previous experience of power line clearance and hold the following as a minimum:
- Pre-1997 driving licence, or B+E
- NPTC CS30, 31, 38, 39 & 40 (or equivalent)
- NPTC Wood Chipper
- NPTC UA1, UA2.1, UA2.2, UA2.3 (or equivalent) & recerts where applicable
- First Aid at Work
Previously held Northern Power Grid Authorisations are an advantage but not essential.

Salary negotiable with excellent earning potential for the right candidates.
