Maintenance Assurance Lead – Helensburgh

About the role:
The Maintenance Assurance Lead is responsible for providing governance, oversight and independent assurance of maintenance management arrangements across infrastructure assets. The role ensures that examination, inspection, maintenance and testing (EIMT) activities are effective, compliant with statutory and organisational requirements, and supported by robust policies, procedures and management systems.
Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders, the successful candidate will lead assurance activities, evaluate compliance, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and provide evidence-based recommendations to strengthen governance and performance.
Key Deliverables:
- Lead independent assurance reviews, audits and assessments of maintenance management arrangements.
- Review compliance records, documentation and evidence to verify adherence to statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance management systems and governance processes.
- Produce assurance reports, findings and recommendations to support continuous improvement.
- Provide oversight of examination, inspection, maintenance and testing (EIMT) activities.
- Represent the assurance function when engaging with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Support the development and improvement of maintenance policies, procedures and management systems.
- Analyse compliance data and performance metrics to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure assurance activities are evidence-based, auditable and accurately documented.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems for infrastructure assets.
- Experience conducting audits, assurance reviews or compliance assessments.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical information and provide practical recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
Desirable:
- Experience working within highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting governance, assurance or compliance functions.
- Experience working within large infrastructure, engineering or facilities management environments.
- Knowledge of quality management or continuous improvement methodologies.
