Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist in various roofing projects, supporting skilled tradespeople and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of tasks. Duties
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of roofing materials and tools on-site
- Support roofing specialists in laying, fixing, and sealing roofing materials
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install roofing components
- Help with the installation of roof membranes, tiles, or shingles as directed
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, felt rolls, or metal sheets
- Support with scaffolding setup and safety measures to ensure a secure working environment
- Aid in the removal of old roofing materials during refurbishment projects
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks on-site
Skills
- Basic understanding of schematics and construction drawings is advantageous
- Experience with welding, plumbing, masonry, or carpentry is beneficial but not essential
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and chisels
- Familiarity with power tools including drills, saws, and nail guns
- Prior construction experience or exposure to roofing projects is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to fabrication and roof installation processes
