- Practice: Newent Doctors Practice
- Location: Newent (Semi-rural market town, easily commutable from Gloucester, Ross, Malvern, Ledbury, or Tewkesbury)
- Hours: 28 hours per week (Spread across 4 days)
- Salary: In the range of £18.50-£19.42 per hour.

CRITICAL SCHEDULE & ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Please ensure you can commit to the following working patterns before submitting your application:
- Late Shifts: You are contractually expected to support our enhanced access clinics by working a late shift every Thursday evening.
- Weekend Commitment: You will be required to work approximately 3 Saturday mornings per year (paid as overtime).
- Professional Registration: You must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid, current NMC registration.
- Experience Level: While an experienced Practice Nurse is preferred, we are fully willing to train the right nurse looking to transition into primary care for a long-term role.

Role Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive Practice Nurse to join our expanding clinical team. Working alongside our Nurse Lead, fellow Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Phlebotomists, you will deliver a wide range of primary care services. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real, long-term impact on patient care within our community.
Main Responsibilities
- Chronic Disease Management: Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients to promote long-term health and well-being.
- Patient Assessment & Care: Assess patient needs using evidence-based practice guidelines in accordance with NICE and NSF standards.
- Preventative & Routine Care: Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, review patient medications to enhance compliance, and implement adult and childhood vaccination programs.
- Specialized Clinics: Support the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Lead, adhere strictly to IPC policies, and coordinate travel medicine services.
- Clinical Records: Maintain exceptionally accurate clinical records, ensuring appropriate use of Read codes and chronic disease registers.
- Mental Health Support: Recognize, assess, and appropriately refer patients presenting with acute or ongoing mental health needs.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- Licensing: Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with active, valid UK registration.
- Clinical Knowledge: Strong fundamental knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based clinical practices.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build quick, trusted relationships with patients and colleagues alike.
- Teamwork & Autonomy: Ability to work confidently and independently, while remaining a collaborative, proactive team player.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail regarding patient logs and clinical data.
- Development: A firm commitment to ongoing professional development and primary care training.
