About Vendo Digital
Vendo Digital is a fast-growing Performance Marketing Agency with offices in London (Borough) and Sutton, Surrey. We’re a close-knit team of 24 with ambitious growth targets, built around a simple belief: Creative Strategy and Paid Media work best when they sit together. It’s where creative meets data - the combination that lets us scale our clients’ businesses and deliver real performance, not just impressions. We partner with ambitious brands across multiple sectors, and as we continue to grow, we’re building a team of specialists who thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where ideas move fast and careers grow even faster.
Personality Musts
Our perfect fit is a problem solver who understands the difference between “yes, and…” and “yes, but…” — someone who leads with ownership rather than excuses. You’ll need sharp commercial judgement, a bias for action, and the confidence to make calls under pressure while bringing your team with you. Working in client service can mean going the extra mile, and we need a leader who sets that standard for others: comfortable being the senior voice in the room, detailed and organised, and driven to build something bigger than a set of accounts. Confidence, self-discipline, and a genuine curiosity about where paid media is headed next are things we love and admire.
Role Overview
Vendo Digital is looking for a commercially minded Head of Paid Media to lead our Paid Media division across paid search and paid social, working hand-in-hand with our Creative Strategy team so that creative and data are always pulling in the same direction. You’ll take full accountability for a team of strategists, for the performance of our client accounts, and for the commercial health of the division.
This is a leadership role for a senior paid media specialist ready to run a division rather than a set of accounts. As a hands-on player-coach, you’ll set the strategy and standards, step into the biggest client relationships, and drive results, retention, and margin across the board.
You’ll own how we plan, build, optimise, and report on paid media, keep the team performing at a high level, and play a key role in new business and the agency’s wider growth.
Importantly, we see this as a pathway role. We’re looking for someone with the ambition, commercial ability, and leadership to grow into our future Managing Director, taking on broader responsibility for the agency over time as they prove themselves in the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the paid media team, setting clear standards for strategy, execution, and reporting.
- Own divisional performance across paid search and paid social, holding accountability for client results (lead volume, CPA, ROAS) and retention.
- Own and manage the division’s P&L: resourcing, utilisation, and profitability against targets.
- Set the paid media strategy and standards across the client base, stepping directly into the largest and most complex accounts.
- Act as the senior escalation point for both clients and the team, resolving issues and keeping performance on track.
- Build and embed best-practice testing frameworks, processes, and SOPs across the division.
- Support new business through scoping, forecasting, and pitching for prospective clients.
- Own capacity planning and resourcing across the team to balance workload and quality.
- Report divisional performance, forecasts, and commercials to the leadership team.
- Stay ahead of platform, measurement, and privacy changes, bringing new capability into the division.
Skills & Experience
- Substantial paid media experience across Google and Meta (and ideally other platforms), gained within an agency.
- Proven team leadership or management experience, or a strong senior strategist demonstrably ready to step up.
- Deep command of paid strategy, measurement, and optimisation at scale across multiple accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen: confident reading, owning, and managing a divisional P&L, margin, and utilisation.
- A confident, client-facing leader able to own senior relationships and contribute to new business.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Data-fluent across GA4, Looker Studio, conversion tracking, and attribution.
- A track record of driving measurable client results and lifting team performance.
Vendo Employee Benefits
- Performance Bonus: A performance-related bonus tied to divisional results, retention, and profitability.
- Private Medical Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for your health and wellbeing.
- Company Pension: Workplace pension scheme with employer contributions.
- Holiday Allowance: 23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Hybrid Working: A flexible blend of office and remote working across our London and Surrey offices.
- Learning & Development: Ongoing training and a genuine path to grow your career as the agency scales.
- Team Socials: Regular team events, socials, and a collaborative, high-energy culture.
Next step: a five-minute video introduction
Before we book any calls, we ask every applicant to record a short video. It's the quickest way for us to get a sense of you beyond a CV - and the quickest way for you to make a case that a document can't.
This is a five-minute task. Please don't spend longer on it.
We mean that. No preparation, no slides, no research project. Five minutes of your time, start to finish - press record, talk, send us the link. If you find yourself on your third take, you've already done more than we asked for.
What to talk about
Just three things:
- Who you are - where you are now and what you actually do day to day.
- Why you applied - what made you click on this one.
- Why you think you'd be great at it - in your own words. We're not after a case study.
That's it. We want a real sense of you, not a performance.
How to record it
- Use Loom - it's free and takes about a minute to set up.
- Camera on. Five minutes maximum - we won't watch past it.
- A phone or laptop camera is fine. No slides, no editing, no production values.
- Don't script it - we'd rather hear you think than hear you read.
- One take. We are not assessing polish, and re-recording won't score you higher.
Before you submit
- In Loom, set the video's sharing to "Anyone with the link can view".
- Open the link in a private/incognito window to check it plays.
Submit it here: https://form.asana.com/?k=-YVFDm2OvF28L3y8BFoW4A&d=1201865580889507
Deadline: 5 days after application
What happens next: we review every submission and come back to everyone either way within five working days. If it's a yes, the next step is an informal 30-minute call.
Any problems with Loom or the form, just let us know.
Pay: £50,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company events
- Company pension
- Private medical insurance
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London SE1 4PG
