Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Steel Frame, Groundworks & Concrete Operative to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building robust steel frameworks, executing groundworks, and pouring concrete to bring large-scale projects to life. Your energy and expertise will contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality construction processes. Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly and installation of steel frameworks using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Prepare sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring safety measures are in place for groundworks
- Execute excavation, trenching, and foundation work with precision and adherence to project specifications
- Pour and lay concrete accurately for foundations, floors, and other structural elements
- Operate heavy machinery such as diggers or telehandlers for material movement and site logistics
- Conduct routine inspections of work areas to maintain safety standards and quality control throughout each phase
Skills
- Practical construction or groundwork experience
- Experience with concreting, including preparing bases, laying and finishing concrete
- Ability to erect steel-framed buildings/sheds, or relevant steelwork experience
- Good understanding of basic construction methods and site safety
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Able to work as part of a team and also use initiative when working independently
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual
- Valid commercial driving license essential for transporting materials or equipment between sites
