Tattershall Farm Park is looking for an experienced and capable Animal Keeper to join our animal care team.
This is a hands-on role for someone with solid livestock experience, strong practical skills and a genuine commitment to high standards of animal welfare. We are not looking for an entry-level keeper; we need someone who can confidently contribute from day one and become a valued member of a small, hardworking team.
Working within our licensed zoo, you'll be involved in the care of a diverse collection including livestock, small mammals, exotic species and birds, while also helping to maintain the facilities and infrastructure that support them.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily husbandry and welfare of livestock, small animals, exotic species and birds.
- Feeding, cleaning, health monitoring and routine animal care.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, record keeping and biosecurity.
- Animal handling, enrichment and visitor engagement activities.
- Maintenance of paddocks, fencing, drinkers, housing and animal facilities.
- Supporting enclosure improvements and wider animal department projects.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and zoo licensing requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working with livestock and farm animals.
- Strong animal husbandry knowledge and welfare standards.
- Practical DIY and maintenance skills.
- Ability to repair and maintain fencing, drinkers and animal facilities.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Positive, reliable and professional approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Exotic animal husbandry.
- Zoo, farm park or visitor attraction experience.
- Tractor, telehandler or agricultural machinery operation.
- Birds of prey handling or an interest in falconry.
- Public engagement, talks or animal encounter experience.

This position includes weekend, bank holiday and school holiday working as part of a rota.
Full-time is preferred; however, we would consider part-time working or a job share arrangement for an exceptional candidate.
Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
