Technical Sales Surveyor
Reporting to: Head of Sales
OTE: £50K-£70K
The Role
The Technical Sales Surveyor is a customer-facing role responsible for visiting residential and commercial properties, assessing their suitability for solar PV and associated renewable energy systems, understanding the customer's requirements, and recommending technically appropriate solutions.
The role combines technical surveying, customer service, system design and sales. You will be responsible for taking a customer from the initial site visit through to a clear, accurate and professional proposal, ensuring that the system recommended is suitable for the customer's needs, the property and the relevant technical and regulatory requirements.
As a representative of Solarfix, you will be expected to uphold the company's reputation at all times. Integrity, Positivity, Professionalism and Quality, together with health and safety, must be at the centre of every customer interaction and every decision made.
The customer should leave every interaction feeling that they have been listened to, treated professionally and given honest, expert advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out professional and detailed site surveys of residential and commercial properties.
- Assess roof suitability, shading, measurements, electrical equipment, cable routes, equipment locations and potential installation challenges.
- Understand each customer's energy usage, requirements and future needs and recommend the most appropriate solution.
- Design and quote suitable solar PV, battery and associated renewable energy systems.
- Present solutions directly to customers, explaining the technology, benefits, costs, savings and payback clearly.
- Build trust with customers through honest, knowledgeable and professional advice.
- Manage enquiries, quotations and follow-ups through to a successful sale.
- Ensure all surveys, designs and quotations are accurate, practical and compliant with relevant regulations and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain excellent records, photographs and technical information to ensure a smooth handover to the installation team.
- Develop strong knowledge of Solarfix's products, technology, monitoring systems and industry regulations.
- Identify and escalate technical, commercial or health and safety issues where required.
- Work closely with the Head of Sales and wider Solarfix team to continually improve customer experience and quality.
- Achieve agreed sales and performance targets without compromising customer service, technical standards or Solarfix's values.

- A willingness to learn and develop technically.
Experience in solar PV, electrical, construction, surveying or technical sales would be advantageous, but attitude, aptitude and customer focus are equally important.

Pay: £50,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
