Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our existing team of Consultants to commence as soon as possible.
You will support all areas encompassed within the Acute medicine service footprint, which is Same Day Emergency Care, Acute Medicine Unit, Short Stay Unit and our Acute Medical Receiving Unit.
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to come and join our existing consultant team, to further support service development, clinical excellence and contribute to education, training and continuous quality improvement.
If this sounds like an exciting opportunity for you, then we would love to hear from you.
The primary role of the Acute Physician is to provide early patient decisions with support from junior medical staff, a dedicated nursing team, procedural support practitioners and a rapid response social and therapy team. The successful candidate will work within the Acute Medical Service (AMS) and contribute to a team of Consultants in Acute Medicine.
This post is envisaged to initially support the sole needs of the Acute Medical Services; however, we would be happy to adjust the job plan to allow the post holder to maintain a special interest in an area of their choosing once they are settled in the role.
There is a General Physician (Specialty Physicians) on-call rota providing on-call support overnight which runs parallel to the Acute Physicians working pattern. There is no on-call commitment attached to this post.
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.
