Are you caring, bright, enthusiastic, willing to learn a new skill and looking to join the
care industry, or already an experienced carer? If so, we are looking for a daytime
carer to join our child's small support team. Experience of tracheostomy and
ventilation care would be an advantage, but is not essential; full, certificated training
will be provided.
The position is for 6.5-hour daytime shifts, attending a mainstream primary school. Our child has a tracheostomy and is ventilated overnight.
You will receive:
● Standard rate of £15.05 per hour
● A pension if eligible
● 5.6 weeks per year pro rata holiday
● Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
● The option of contracted hours or a casual contract, on a Personal Health Budget
Hours available:
● 32.5 hours per week (5 daytime shifts)
● There is the opportunity to work additional hours on occasions in relation to school clubs, holidays and sickness
● Term-time work, during school hours
What’s required:
● Being able to carry out a daytime shift, staying fully alert and vigilant
● Flexibility in working hours is essential to cover other team members
● Support with use and care of tracheostomy and ventilator. The use of a suction machine and nebulisers is required. Full training provided
● Support with life skills
● An enhanced DBS check (the cost will be met by the employer)
