Are you passionate about sport and dedicated to helping learners achieve their full potential? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sport Lecturer to join our Sport & Uniformed Services team on a part-time fixed-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of sport professionals through high-quality teaching, learning and assessment. You will work with learners across a range of sport programmes, supporting their academic, practical and personal development in a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment. Working closely with colleagues and industry partners, you will help students develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in further study and future careers within the sport sector.
Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday 8:30am - 5pm and Friday 8:30am - 4pm (21.5 hours a week)
Actual Salary: £20,462.55 - £25,913.25 per annum
Essential Criteria
- Appropriate teaching qualification, relevant industry experience, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
- Relevant sport sector expertise and a recognised qualification in a sport-related subject.
- Minimum Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
- Experience within the sport industry and knowledge of effective teaching and learning approaches.
- Strong communication, organisational and learner engagement skills, with a commitment to high standards and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across sport programmes.
- Supervise and assess learners in both classroom and practical sport environments, including gym, studio and sports facilities.
- Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback and implement strategies to support achievement and retention.
- Develop learning resources and contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
- Support student recruitment through open events, interviews, marketing activities and community engagement.
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, equality, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records, assessment documentation and individual learning plans.
- Participate in quality assurance, standardisation and professional development activities.
