Delivery Consultant
We were just named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2026.
The only recruitment firm in Southampton to make the list. A 94% employee engagement score, with every single category rated "excellent." We're also the first recruitment company in Hampshire to become B Corp certified, and we've picked up Best Newcomer, Best New Agency, and Recruitment Agency of the Year along the way.
That's the room you'd be walking into.
The short version
As a Delivery Consultant, you'll own delivery against our key accounts in energy and infrastructure. You manage placements across all levels, from £40k technical roles to senior leadership commercial positions, filling roles consistently and at pace. You have defined accounts to support, revenue targets to hit, and a team relying on your delivery.
The difference is how you approach it. You don't think "I have a brief, now match the candidate." You think like a market consultant. You engage with the talent market, understand the landscape, gather data and insights from every conversation. You share those insights, posts, reports, market snapshots, that build your visibility and position you as someone who understands the market, not just the vacancy.
That engagement naturally produces secondary opportunities: referrals you wouldn't have found, hiring signals at companies you're already talking to, relationship depth that turns one placement into a partnership. You're filling your briefs at pace, but you're doing it as a market operator, not a role-matcher. And when you spot an opportunity, a new need, a partnership angle, a talent signal, you flag it to the team.
Your key accounts depend on you for consistent, quality delivery. You're filling technical roles one week, and highly commercial roles the next, supporting project builds and team expansion. What matters is that you fill them well, maintain those client relationships through reliability, and think commercially about what else that engagement reveals.
Looking for a career in recruitment? Read this bit.
We're looking for someone with recruitment experience or a proven track record in a delivery role, someone who understands how to search, screen, and move placements to close. That said, if you have strong fundamentals, read people exceptionally well, and demonstrate the instinct and drive we're looking for, we'll teach you the process.
For this role, you need to be able to do both: deliver against your accounts with speed and precision, and think opportunistically about the market you're working in. You read people well. You ask questions that reveal what's really happening in a company or team. You're comfortable with rejection and you bounce back fast. If that sounds like you, we'll give you the support to excel. You bring the instinct and the drive.
You probably recognise yourself here:
- You're results-driven, you hit targets and you like being measured on them
- You're genuinely curious about people and markets; you ask follow-up questions that open doors
- You're commercially minded, you spot angles and secondary opportunities, not just the obvious transaction
- You can pick up the phone and start a conversation with someone you've never met
- You've worked somewhere with real targets, real pressure, and you've delivered consistently
- You prefer to build relationships than to work a system; you'd rather map a market than sit in a CRM
- You're independent, financially motivated, and ready to commit to something properly
What you'll actually do
- Own delivery against your key accounts: fill briefs consistently, at pace, across all levels and functions
- Map and engage with talent markets: understand the landscape, identify key players and pipelines, build visibility as someone who knows the market
- Work candidate calls strategically: understand their career trajectory, where else they're looking, what signals they're picking up from their employer, gather referrals and insights
- Feed market intelligence back to the team: every call reveals data, hiring plans, restructuring, investment activity, talent gaps, that may indicate new opportunities or partnerships
- Produce market insights: posts, reports, market snapshots that demonstrate your expertise and build your profile in the sectors you cover
- Build and manage your own talent pipeline: nurture relationships that support your key accounts and create secondary opportunities (referrals, partnerships, new leads)
- Introduce candidates into market opportunities: when you're mapping markets and building pipelines, you uncover hiring signals and emerging needs before they become formal briefs, you move the right candidates into these opportunities early
- Think opportunistically: when a brief reveals a larger need, a hiring signal, or a partnership angle, surface it, you and the team move together to explore it
- Work to clear revenue targets in a high-performance team, with genuine progression and the support to get there
Where it goes
Delievery Consultant is a core revenue role with a clear path to Senior Delievery Consultant. Progression is based on your delivery track record, the quality of the relationships you build, and how you identify and develop secondary opportunities, not how long you've been in the chair.
High performers often develop deep expertise in a vertical or sector and take ownership of it, or transition into retained search and partnership leadership. At senior levels you hold direct client relationships, lead on fee negotiation, and get exposure to board-level conversations.
