We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Indian Chef to join our esteemed culinary team. Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes, ensuring adherence to traditional recipes and presentation standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality.
- Oversee food production processes, including ingredient sourcing, portion control, and efficient utilisation of resources.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings based on customer feedback.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly followed, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
- Provide leadership in a fast-paced setting while fostering teamwork and a positive work atmosphere.
- Serve as a culinary ambassador by maintaining consistency in flavour, presentation, and overall guest satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic tandoori dishes, including naan breads, kebabs, tikka, and other items using the traditional clay tandoor oven.
- Ensure the tandoor oven is operated safely and maintained at the correct cooking temperature.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a range of Indian curry dishes, following established recipes and maintaining consistent quality.
- Prepare and marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables using traditional Indian spices and cooking techniques.
- Support the Head Chef in menu preparation, food presentation, and daily kitchen operations.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to ensure high standards are consistently maintained.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety in accordance with Food Safety and HACCP regulations.
- Ensure proper storage, stock rotation, and handling of all food ingredients to minimise waste.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining excellent food quality and consistency.
- Assist with inventory management and notify the management team of stock requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and food hygiene standards at all times.
