Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation, safety, and appearance of our facilities. In this vital role, you will carry out repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. You will also be required to maintain the outward appearance of our grade 2 listed building by means of painting and decorating and carpentary. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals; handle wiring, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
- Oversee small maintenance projects or supervise additional staff during larger repair tasks to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference.
- Lead by example in safety practices while supervising maintenance staff or contractors on-site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with building maintenance including electrical work, mechanical repairs, carpentary, painting and decorating and troubleshooting systems.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams with confidence.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, plumbing, and structural components.
- Electrical experience including wiring, circuit testing, and troubleshooting electrical faults.

Pay: £16.80 per hour
