Role Charter
The Regional Manager – UK is a senior retail leadership role responsible for driving the commercial success, expansion, and long-term growth of Ajmal Perfumes across the United Kingdom.
While accountable for the performance and operations of existing stores, this role also carries a strategic mandate to expand Ajmal’s retail footprint, strengthen brand presence, and unlock new business opportunities in the UK market.
The role owns P&L delivery, people leadership, retail excellence, and market development, while working closely with regional and global leadership teams to take Ajmal Perfumes to greater heights in one of the world’s most competitive luxury retail markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial & Financial Ownership (P&L Leadership)
· Full ownership of UK retail P&L, including sales, gross margins, staffing costs, inventory, rentals, marketing spends, and controllable operating expenses.
· Drive consistent achievement of annual revenue, profitability, and growth targets across all stores.
· Develop and execute commercial plans to improve store productivity, conversion, average transaction value, and sell-through.
· Monitor and optimise store-level cost structures while maintaining luxury service standards.
· Lead lease management, rental negotiations, renewals, and landlord relationships in collaboration with senior management.
· Ensure all stores operate in full compliance with UK retail laws, employment regulations, trading hours, and governance requirements.
2. Sales Leadership & People Management
· Build, lead, and inspire high-performing retail teams that consistently deliver sales targets and exceptional customer experiences.
· Recruit, onboard, and develop store teams with a strong focus on luxury selling, fragrance expertise, and brand storytelling.
· Establish a performance-driven culture through KPIs, regular reviews, coaching, and development plans.
· Manage workforce planning, staffing budgets, shift rosters, attendance, and fair rotation practices.
· Oversee inter-store staff movements, temporary assignments, and transfers in coordination with HR.
· Act as a role model on the shop floor, leading by example in customer engagement and sales excellence.
3. Customer Experience & Brand Ambassadorship
· Ensure delivery of a premium, luxury retail experience aligned with Ajmal Perfumes’ global brand standards.
· Personally engage with high-value customers, VIPs, and repeat clients, offering bespoke fragrance consultations.
· Champion a customer-first culture, ensuring swift and professional resolution of complaints and service issues.
· Build and nurture a loyal customer base through relationship management, CRM initiatives, and repeat engagement.
· Serve as the brand custodian in the UK, representing Ajmal Perfumes with credibility, passion, and cultural sensitivity.
4. Inventory, Stock & Asset Management
· Ensure optimal stock availability across stores, balancing availability with inventory efficiency.
· Enforce strict adherence to FIFO, stock transfers, tester controls, shrinkage prevention, and damage management.
· Conduct and oversee regular stock audits, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
· Identify slow-moving inventory and implement corrective actions such as promotions, bundling, VM changes, or assortment optimisation.
· Ensure fragrance sampling and tester usage are aligned with company guidelines and hygiene standards.
5. Visual Merchandising & Store Standards
· Ensure all stores strictly comply with Ajmal’s global VM, branding, and merchandising guidelines.
· Maintain impeccable standards of store appearance, cleanliness, product presentation, and ambience.
· Execute seasonal campaigns, new product launches, gifting initiatives, and promotional displays flawlessly.
· Partner with VM and marketing teams to localise global concepts for the UK consumer.
6. Marketing, Partnerships & Business Development
· Execute local marketing initiatives to drive footfall, brand visibility, and customer acquisition.
· Collaborate with marketing teams on in-store activations, mall events, influencer engagements, PR initiatives, and sampling programs.
· Align UK retail strategies with key gifting seasons, cultural moments, and fragrance trends.
· Build strong relationships with mall management, landlords, retail partners, and local stakeholders to enhance brand presence.
· Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities that strengthen Ajmal’s market position in the UK.
7. UK Retail Expansion & Growth Strategy
· Actively contribute to Ajmal Perfumes’ UK expansion roadmap, supporting long-term growth plans.
· Identify, evaluate, and recommend new store locations based on footfall, demographics, brand fit, and financial viability.
· Support feasibility studies, location analysis, and business cases for new retail opportunities.
· Lead and coordinate end-to-end new store openings, including setup, staffing, training, VM execution, and launch readiness.
· Liaise with landlords, contractors, logistics, IT, finance, and marketing teams to ensure timely and compliant store launches.
· Ensure all new stores meet brand standards, legal requirements, health & safety norms, and operational readiness.
8. Governance, Compliance & Operational Excellence
· Prepare and submit accurate sales, inventory, cash, people, and performance reports to senior management.
· Ensure strict compliance with cash handling procedures, reconciliations, deposits, and audit standards.
· Implement loss prevention strategies, internal audit protocols, and security measures including CCTV.
· Manage stock and asset handovers during employee exits, transfers, or long-term absences.
· Enforce company policies, SOPs, and head office communications consistently across all locations.
· Proactively identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field.
· 8+ years of progressive experience in luxury retail, fragrances, beauty, or premium consumer brands.
· Demonstrated success in retail leadership roles with strong P&L ownership, delivering revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence across multiple locations.
· Demonstrated experience in new store openings, retail expansion, or market entry projects.
· Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape, consumer behaviour, and luxury service expectations.
· Proficiency in POS systems, inventory tools, reporting platforms, and MS Office.
· Entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset, with the ability to think beyond store operations.
· Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
