Duties
- Provide one-on-one and group mentoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of students with SEND
- Support classroom teachers by implementing personalized learning strategies that accommodate diverse learning styles
- Assist students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and independence through engaging activities
- Monitor student progress regularly, maintaining detailed records of achievements and areas for improvement
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages positive behavior and mutual respect among learners
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educational professionals to ensure consistent support for each student
- Lead activities that promote confidence-building, resilience, and life skills development
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in educational or youth work settings
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEND) frameworks and strategies for supporting diverse learners
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students facing challenges
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and creating tailored support plans for individual learners
- Teaching experience or relevant qualifications are highly desirable but not essential; a genuine passion for helping young people thrive is key
