Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Day Senior Health Care Assistant to join our caring team in a care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals while working in a supportive and professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with supervisory experience and a genuine passion for elder care.
Duties
- Lead and supervise care staff to ensure high standards of resident care are maintained at all times
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment
- Support residents with medication management as per prescribed care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using IT systems
- Foster a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes independence and dignity among residents
- Assist with organising activities and social events to enhance residents’ quality of life
- Drive company vehicles when necessary for outings or appointments
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or senior care setting is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to use IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents or running errands
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety regulations relevant to elder care
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and the ability to supervise staff effectively
