Job Description: As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to the satisfaction of our customers and the success of our business.
In this role, you will be hands-on, working as part of a dedicated team to handle the movement and organisation of stock. Your day will involve unloading containers, which may include handling heavy bales of clothing, and ensuring that items are sorted and categorised by brand, type, and condition. Attention to detail is key, as you will be responsible for picking and packing orders accurately, conducting quality control checks, and preparing items for shipment with proper wrapping, strapping, and labelling.
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace is essential to keep operations efficient and safe. You will also assist with inventory management, including stock counting and recording, using tools like spreadsheets and our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Collaboration is vital, and you’ll work closely with colleagues to meet daily targets and uphold our high standards.
This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting, stacking boxes or bales, and working with pallet shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload up to 40ft containers containing heavy bales of clothing.
- Load containers and courier vans efficiently and safely.
- Sort and categorise clothing by brand, type, and condition to meet inventory standards.
- Pick and pack orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure all items meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Support inventory management by conducting stock counts and maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare shipments, including proper labelling, wrapping, and strapping of pallets.
- Stack and organise boxes or bales to optimise storage and workflow.
- Use spreadsheets and digital tools to track and manage inventory.
- Monitor expected container deliveries to proactively plan for unloading and stock organisation.
Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy bales of stock.
- Familiarity with clothing brands such as Carhartt, Dickies, Adidas, and Nike.
- Valid driving licence and access to a car (due to location).
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Enthusiasm for vintage clothing and an interest in fashion trends.
- Basic computer skills for managing inventory and processing orders.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and continuously grow with the evolving needs of the business.
