Production Operative
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected
Responsibilities
-
Work to strict Health & Safety and Quality requirements at all times.
-
Help achieve daily production targets in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer expectations.
-
Operate blow moulding machines safely and efficiently.
-
Adjust machine controls and monitor the production process.
-
Manufacture products to the required Product Quality Standards (PQS).
-
Carry out quality control checks throughout the production process.
-
Operate Random Orbital Sanders where required.
-
Trim excess plastic (flash) from products.
-
Carry out cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of work areas and machinery.
-
Report equipment faults promptly to the Team Leader or Maintenance department.
-
Record total parts produced accurately.
-
Record all non-conforming parts in line with Company procedures.
-
Pack finished goods using appropriate protective materials into stillages or other containers.
-
Label packaged goods ready for dispatch.
-
Stack finished goods safely and appropriately.
-
Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
-
Follow and adhere to all relevant work instructions and operating procedures.
-
Take responsibility for the quality of products produced in line with the Company's Quality Policy.
-
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by risk assessments.
-
Comply with the Company Handbook and Health & Safety Policy.
-
Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.

Understanding of production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap and rework.

Ability to work across multiple areas of the production process.

Experience
Essential:

Previous manufacturing experience.

Experience working as part of a team.
Desirable:
-
Experience within a blow moulding or plastics manufacturing environment.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Set a good example of safe behaviour, particularly to new entrants and young persons.

Work in a safe manner and observe site Health and Safety rules and procedures.

Do not misuse or interfere with anything provided to ensure the Health and Safety of themselves and others.

Correctly use the protective clothing and equipment provided.

Report any safety concerns promptly to their Supervisor and take action to prevent injury if it is safe to do so.

Report all injuries that occur at work and obtain the necessary first aid treatment.

Help in the investigation of accidents to prevent recurrence.
