Job Overview
We are seeking a competent and safety-conscious Lifting Supervisor & Slinger Signaller to control lifting operations on construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of construction procedures, and the ability to coordinate effectively with team members. This role is vital in ensuring that lifting activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate lifting operations on-site, ensuring all activities adhere to safety regulations and project specifications.
- Operate as a Slinger Signaller, accurately directing crane movements using standard hand signals or radio communication.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to lifting tasks and implement necessary safety measures.
- Ensure all lifting equipment is inspected regularly and maintained according to statutory requirements.
- Liaise effectively with crane operators, site managers, and other personnel to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Maintain detailed records of lifting activities, inspections, and safety checks.
- Enforce compliance with health and safety legislation throughout all lifting operations.
- Provide guidance and supervision to team members involved in lifting tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction environments, particularly with crane operations and lifting procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of clearly conveying instructions and safety information.
- Valid certification as a Slinger Signaller recognised within the industry.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely; driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and safety compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
- Good teamwork skills with the capacity to coordinate effectively with diverse personnel groups.
